powershop
This is a variety of work that I have done while working at Powershop, New Zealand. Powershop is a New Zealand power company with a shop which allows their customers to shop for power with more freedom and flexibility. Customers shop through the app where they can buy power packs, specials (which are special discounted power packs), and future packs which help them to buy power for future months. Working at Powershop I have been able to add to the shop’s packs; work on Switch Your Mates campaigns, where a customer who can successfully refer a mate to Powershop will earn a certain amount of credit for both themselves and their mate; campaigns in which I have created a series of animated videos; and blog posts that are found on the Powershop website.
switch your mates (SYM) campaigns
These are a variety of digital assets created for some SYM campaigns that feature on the website, the app, social media, and on emails.
In order: “Tuck into free power with your mates”; SYM competition to win a year’s free power; and the Winter campaign SYM.
Kill your bill (KYB) campaign
To boost engagement and acquisition at year-end, I developed a promotional campaign for Powershop's "Kill Your Bill" competition. Targeting both prospective and current customers, the campaign offered a chance to win a year’s free power, encouraging new signups while driving increased purchases from existing customers.
For non-customers, digital ads directed entrants to upload a competitor's bill to Powershop’s savings estimate page, with a bonus entry for those who signed up by mid-December. For current customers, targeted email marketing encouraged purchases of special offers for multiple contest entries. This approach strategically increased brand engagement during a challenging period in the energy market.
shop specials
These are a variety of both static and animated shop specials featured on the Powershop app and social media to promote Special Power packs to customers. Each week, the team collaborates to decide on a topical special theme, and we work together to craft the accompanying copy. Creating these specials is always enjoyable, as they often involve wacky ideas that result in fun and creative designs.

Acquisition offer animations
To promote Powershop’s "$150 Free Power" and "12 Free Weekends of Power" offers, I animated social media and HTML5 display ads based on initial designs from a colleague. This project strengthened my skills in digital advertising, where I used Google Web Designer to create engaging, clickable ads with embedded click tags, optimizing them for various platforms. These ads enhanced Powershop’s online presence and showcased key offers in a visually dynamic way to drive customer interest and engagement.
Auckland ooh billboards
For Powershop's OOH advertising campaign in Auckland, I designed a series of billboards across various sizes to boost brand awareness and highlight potential savings for new customers. Drawing on the brand's personality, Joules, I used imagery created by our agency from the campaign’s "shopping for power" concept, placing Joules in everyday supermarket scenes to create a relatable connection with viewers. This project strengthened Powershop's brand presence in Auckland, aligning the visuals closely with the campaign's playful, consumer-focused narrative.
winteriffic campaign videos
This was a series of videos created for the Powershop Winter campaign in 2023. For this campaign, we developed a Powershop pixel world, complete with various icons and characters. My primary task was to produce a series of short videos within this pixel world, demonstrating to the audience how to shop for power using the Powershop app. The style of these videos was guided by our overall winter campaign theme, which was inspired by retro 90s games. Consequently, the videos featured nostalgic elements such as character movements, text and speech bubbles, and music and sound effects reminiscent of that era. Each video showcased a character on a quest for maximum savings, providing users with a step-by-step guide to achieving these savings. The video series was a major hit on Powershop's social media, and we received extensive feedback from the audience, who found the videos incredibly helpful in understanding how to use the app more effectively.
powerpacks
These are a couple of examples of other power packs I have created for the Powershop app. On the left is an EV power pack designed for customers who have registered an electric vehicle at their home. On the right is a value pack that can be used to purchase power at any time during the month. It has been designed as a honey jar to match the other packs in the store, which feature a variety of different packaging styles.
website blog post imagery
These are a couple of examples of illustrations I have created to accompany blog articles on the Powershop website. These illustrations support a range of blogs that provide information on how to use power most efficiently and offer tips on saving on your energy bill.
