Meridian energy

This is a collection of work I have done while working at Meridian Energy, New Zealand, and their subsidiary brand, Zero. Meridian is a New Zealand power company that generates electricity exclusively through 100% renewable sources – wind, water, and sun.

During my time with this brand, I have had the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects, including campaigns, animations, out-of-home (OOH) advertising, digital advertising, web design, and requests for proposals (RFPs), among others.

Power credit campaign

In this campaign, I was tasked with refreshing the creative for Meridian’s offer of a $200 credit when joining a fixed-term plan. This was a significant project to undertake. Once I decided on a creative angle, I had to produce numerous size variations and adapt them for different months and various New Zealand locations. After creating these size variations, I animated them in HTML5 format for use across various digital platforms. Additionally, I had to learn how to code and input click tags to enable the team to track the ads' performance. This project was a substantial learning experience in digital advertising.

Zero OOH Billboards

In this Zero project, I created out-of-home (OOH) billboards to be displayed across various locations in the South Island, guiding EV drivers to their nearest Zero chargers. This project involved designing over 100 billboards, each customized for different locations, distances, and sizes to suit the specific areas.

Additionally, I was responsible for creating social media posts that provided tips and tricks on EV charger etiquette. For this task, I assisted with photoshoots to capture images of the chargers and the app in use, and then used these images to design the social media posts.

Kidscan 10 year partnership infographic video

This was an infographic video that I created for Meridian’s celebration of 10 years of partnership with KidsCan. It was aimed to showcase the main milestones during this partnership and how the partnership has been able to provide for NZ kids in need.
There were many different aspects to creating this video: creating an opening and ending frame, creating the illustrations that resembled drawings on a whiteboard, and adding in appropriate music and sound effects, to name a few.

ILLUSTRATIONS

These are examples of illustrations I have created in the Meridian style, which are used across the Meridian website. Each illustration adheres to a specific style guide, including the color palette, patterns, icons, and character styles that are permitted for use in these designs.
